Questions about our pools?

  • Where do you install pools?

We will go anywhere in Southwestern Ontario!

Windsor, Chatham, Tillsonburg, London, St. Marys, St. Thomas, Woodstock, Ingersoll, Sarnia, Lambton Shores, Stratford, and most surrounding areas.  Contact us to inquire if your home is in our service area.

  • What is required to install a pool?

    - A backyard big enough to be able to install the pool of your choice - we have many sizes big or small and you'd be surprised at what we can make work! Beyond that, you need 5' clearance between the waters' edge and your property line, a permit (which we typically handle for you) and the will to enjoy your backyard oasis after!

  • How long does it take to fill up a pool? How much water does it use?

We fill your pool with a water truck. Most pools average 2-3 trucks and it's full within an hour or so on average.

  • How often do I have to clean my pool?

It is recommended to have your pool cleaned at least once a week to keep it clean and uncontaminated.

Under normal circumstances, check your water chemistry monthly if you're using a salt water system. Adjust salinity, calcium hardness and alkalinity accordingly. With chlorine systems, you should add a tablet of chlorine every 3-7 days, depending on the results of your water tests. Test weekly. Tablets are often the best option, as they are easier to handle and measure.

Make sure to keep leaves and other debris out of the pool.

  • When should I open my pool in spring?

The best time to open your pool is once you are sure that there is no longer a threat of freezing temperatures in your area.

    • If you’ve ever opened your pool to a sea of green, much of that algae growth would have happened in the warmer temperatures just before opening. Open your pool early and it’ll be easier to keep the water clear and clean.
    • If you have a pool heater, you’ll be ready to jump in on those warmer days in the spring.
    • Early opening gives you more time to do your regular pool maintenance, discover any unexpected problems and solve them before they take away from your swimming time.

  • Do I need to close my pool for winter?

Definitely close your pool before the temperatures fall under -1°C at night

As long as the pump is running, the water is moving and shouldn't freeze. But if you lose electricity during a storm and it gets down below freezing, the water will freeze in the pump, plumbing and filter and will likely cause damage.

There may also be some plumbing lines (like for a slide, for example) that may not have water moving through them.

Once you’ve closed the pool, you don’t have to worry about the pump and filter system freezing!

Important for Fiberglass pool owners -- always keep an eye on the water table in the ground around your pool by opening up the sump pit pipe cap. You want to ensure the water level is at least 3-4' beneath the surface or below the frost line otherwise you run the risk of heaving your pool when frost hits. Once frozen, all should be good but with our volatile Canadian winters, you must keep an eye on this to avoid catastrophic damages.

  • How do I winterize my pool?

We always recommend having your pool closed professionally. It's one of the most important parts of owning a pool. Winterizing the pool includes draining the water out of the system (but not out of the pool itself) and treating the water with special chemicals to keep the water under control over winter months. Careful attention needs to be made to several areas of this process otherwise you will certainly have costly problems when Spring opening comes.

It's also required by us to honour our warranty that we close your pool each year.
